WIP: fffffffffffffff christmas

  • Dec. 17th, 2009 at 2:33 AM
Apparently I wasn't done sketching. D:

WIP: A P3P Christmas...? )

Shinji is at one with his beanie - he takes it off for no Santa hat. He's also very full of Christmas cheer. that or he's lacking the energy to fight back

I swear I've sported the same exasperated expression every time I've gotten off work this month. I better get some sleep, though...I get to spend another afternoon trying to explain gaming systems to grandparents.

or get griped at because we're still out of used DS Lites ffffffffffff

WIP: Digging into the old backlog...

  • Dec. 16th, 2009 at 11:03 PM
So I went through the backlog to see what else had started to pile up:

WIP: Luzaf has a ridiculous amount of clothing detail )

Luzaf from Final Fantasy XI, which I've owed [info]xvolph for ages oh god I'm so sorry it's taking this long hhhhnnnnnnggggg. It's not much different from the first progress save I've done, except that I've tightened up the sketch considerably. His clothing is so detailed that it's making the obsessive-compulsive part of me go into shock. I mean, I have plenty of references...but good god there are so many details...! D:

Gonna be picking at this bit by bit so I don't lose my sanity, but I really want to finish this. I have so many image ideas knife-fighting it out in my head; if I don't do something about them, they're gonna cut a bitch me. D:

right now I think a P3P Christmas pic is dominating the other contenders, must deal with this

Oh barf!

  • Dec. 16th, 2009 at 3:10 PM
EDIT!!!- Now my mac charger doesn't want to work now! Second time this has happend. I'll book an appointment at Jared's tomorrow for them to look at it or replace it. UGH! Til it feels like working again. I only have 30% left :(

Lucky-ish I get paid next week, the ish being thats christmas weekend, so I'm not fixing anything til after.

Re: Ava if you forget. which you have (lot has changed since than).

I think more work went into the background than the character, guuuuh

Would've been done with this a lot sooner, but...work and rampant FFXI level syncing...yeah. At least that's one more backlog item done...!

*throws a dart to see which one gets worked on next*

Chanukah is the festival of T-shirts

Here we are now, entertain us.

Kittens will never hurt you.

Apparently you can "buy a shirt with this lyric!!!!". I'm not buying anything until someone tells that poor T-shirt model that she looks silly wearing a shirt with half a paragraph of nonsensical lyrics and bad typeface staggering across her breasts.

Hey.
So got a call from Jared a few nights ago saying we should rearrange his room. In exchange we'd do the same with mine (as well as paint it... if anyone remembers...) which is SWEET!
I need a good change here. I'm getting nothing but slacker, pig and lazy from this place! I need much needed space change.
Two minds are better than one too. See, only good layout for my room besides the mirror of what it is now, is having the bed in deadman's position D: not cool! Plus the light will bug me at night.

This better happen. I NEED it. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get his place all sorted out, and mine before the new years (it takes time to paint). Til than I hope I can trust myself to get shit done on my own.
Got some ideas in my head, and ref by my side. I just someone to push me to my desk and DO IT!
Free time now, but ugh...

Do you people know what time I get up for work? 3-4am! Fuck. I dont feel like doing stuff after than ;3;

I also what to get back to art classes. Just for gesture drawings and the like. I can't do that here and its annoying. Now I'm in the right mind to give a shit. That i'll have to do when the new leisure guide comes out, and when it's warmer out. I can't take the cold like a used to. I'm a pussy.
Also, everything that ends up being colored by me now will be in watercolor. I dont have anything else (that works) besides pencil crayons :/

Til than...
I compiled a bunch of sketches and things but I can't remember where I put them! Damn it. Need more filing space!!

Buses, Sex, and YOU.

  • Dec. 11th, 2009 at 10:04 PM
Right now, Toronto is all "HARBURHGIDHGHGLLLLLGHHARUMPH!!!!" over the Toronto Transit Commission rejecting ads from AshleyMadison.com, that totally rad site that encourages couples to have affairs.* The TTC is poorer than Tiny Tim sicking up his ketchup-water soup, which is partially the fault of the union and enormously the fault of the province/country for not coughing up any kind of steady funding for a system that moves one point five million people a day.

Anyway, the TTC is kind of the enemy of the people right now because fares are being hiked again to a hair-tearing $3.00 per trip. Who can afford that? Not I! But I'm not about to condemn the TTC for rejecting the AM ads. Advertising supposedly makes up $15 to $20 million of the system's budget per year, which isn't small change. But something tells me plastering AshelyMadison's fantastic slogan all over the subway cars ("Life is short. Have an affair") wouldn't save the system like AM claims. Nor will I put much stock into the rantings of conservative newspaper writers who snort about how rejecting the ad means the TTC has relinquished its right to bitch about budget shortfalls. Hey guys, how many of you ride the subway to work every day? Didn't think so.

The reason I'm anti-Ashley Madison is because I've absorbed a great deal of dumb bus ads, and the next step is my death through advertising poisoning. The worst was a thankfully short-lived battle between the atheist group that plastered the world's buses with, "God probably doesn't exist, so stop worrying and enjoy your life," and the Church of Some Variation of God who bought advertising space for rebuttals.

The Church ads said, "God doesn't exist? Look at a sunset and decide for yourself."

Okay, I've decided that my grade four teacher probably wasn't bullshitting when she took out her teacher's aid, flipped to page 4, and explained to us why sunsets look awesome.

"God probably doesn't exist, so stop worrying and enjoy your life."

What if I believe in God, but do not fear Him or necessarily believe he's watching me pee?

Stop it, both of you, or I'll take away the alphabet blocks and nobody will play with them.

*Warning: AshleyMadison is not a resource for consenting adults who have agreed upon an open marriage and/or a polygamous relationship.

Forget Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen; this is the Transformers game I can't wait to get my hands on.

I hope they keep Megatron's battle cry from Animated. It was just... so... perfect.

The last month or so has been a real crum-bum. I'm really looking forward to next week. Despite having a few tests to take, there'll be a few moments to actually rest. ...Or at least do something without running around like an idiot.

Should be doing the holiday boxes this weekend. Also need to pick up some stuff for the dog. Apparently were taking her up to my parent's place for the holiday--which actually works out better than trying to kennel her or anything.

What an...odd day...

  • Dec. 9th, 2009 at 11:09 PM
Megaman 10's been announced...YAY!

Harley died...SHIT?

It's...actually not as surprising as it probably should be. Both she and her brother came from *squalid* conditions and we knew their lungs were shot when we got them. We've even fought a couple of rounds when the symptoms flared up.

She *was* a bit more sluggish than usual, but still very responsive. In the back of my mind there was the thought of taking her to the vet...followed by the realization of what was going on. I realize that's a *very* odd thing to say, but it's true. It probably comes off sounding heartless, but there are times (particularly in rat ownership) where you realize that the animal is dying. Either you can rush it off to the vet and have it euthanized or you can let it die in it's sleep lying next to the rest of it's mischief. She wasn't in any pain--just lethargic--so I decided to let things play out.

So I guess it wasn't a surprise at all, really. There was sorta the hope that she'd just shrug it off in a day or two, but given her history it wasn't hard to see the writing on the wall.

OKAY. SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Sheep Man is adorable. There. Said it. He sounds a lot like Cloud Man though... -_-

Snow--not the white reggae guy

  • Dec. 9th, 2009 at 3:32 PM
Holy shit

Do you know who I found through 1UP?

Maelgrim!

Like, "Mega Man Robot Wars" Maelgrim.

Like, "Mid-90's Mega Man fandom" Maelgrim.

Like, "None of you know what the hell Nadia's problem is right now," Maelgrim.

Anyway, he's still awesome and doing great and he has a 12-year-old daughter, and hey, I ought to reply to his message!

First snowstorm hit Toronto last night. It even brought us a bit of thunder and lightning to remind us, "BITCH, I'M A STORM, YO." I'm not a winter person--I like it only because spring follows--but there is nothing more peaceful than snow at night, when you live in the city. It reflects off the streetlights and gives the world this eerie orange glow. Smart people stay inside and off the streets, so the snow remains white and unspoilt.

Problem with Toronto is, ten centimetres of snow is no excuse to stay home. So in the morning, cars pound the snow all to shit like an ex-sailor going to town on his new virgin bride. Also, the snow changed to rain, so the streets are now a slush stew.

I work part-time outside of the house on Mondays and Fridays. Thankfully, today is not a Monday or a Friday, and I just took care of a killer deadline. I'm going to chillax today, as much as I am capable.

There is a Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks marathon in my immediate future.

WIP: Retro gaming Hitoshura!

Quick progress save before I turn in for the night...

WIP: Hitoshura likes his retro gaming )

Yup, that's an Atari joystick. My gaming history is that old, folks. Still need to put a cord on that thing, though. Plus the background stuff. Maybe little demon sprites. :D

But for now, sleep!

Okay, Maybe Something a Little More Upbeat

  • Dec. 8th, 2009 at 10:22 PM

One of my little rhipsalis is in bloom. Actually, make that *full* bloom. There have to be six or seven little blossoms on the little guy.

Two more pics under the cut. They're both of bugs though. )
